Looks good! I want something like that for my bed just to throw jackets and kid's "accessories" (read: junk) in to get out of the cab, but still stay clean. My topper keeps the water out, but somehow dirt still manages to get in.
![]() Will add to the cheap/free mod thread.

I just had a thought of getting one or two for my bed under my soft top, locking them to my D-rings somehow (cable, bike U-lock, something), and then lock the tote cover. My bed cover doesn't lock, but that would be a good solution! Can't remove from the bed, and cover is locked down.

I have 2 of the larger boxes that I bought at WalMart back in 2000, and have tried to find a couple more but everywhere I look has to be shipped, asa WM does not stock in store anymore, and Target shows them available but not in store. They are handy, as I like as little clutter in cab as possible, and when I drive to FL to my property I use these to put all the soft luggage and towels etc in. They do clear the rails, but the one against cab will have to slide back about 1" when lid opens. They do not have seals, but do have a tongue & groove of sorts; they will have some water intrusion if you direct a water hose stream directly at lid/hindge area, but none under normal/moderate rain. Only rain intrusion ever had was on a trip from GA to PCB FL then across to Orange Beach AL where we got caught in 2 severe rain/mini floods that had 25-30 MPH winds; and 1 box had about 2-3 oz's or water intrusion which amounted to damp towels. I also added handles to mine which help lifting, and give a tie down point that would delay a grab & run by a few seconds.

^nice! Should be perfect for under my soft top then. It lets very little water in, but doesn't lock.
Good to know about not being in stores too... I was thinking about checking out Target today. Guess I won't be too upset if I don't see them.

Great idea I have been wanting a good bed cover but have been putting it off and now there may be a hurricane heading this way so this idea suits me pretty well. Great post. Thanks for the heads up.
