How is a tacoma power train have anything to do with an old Dakota bc the chunks with the Dakotas were the tyranny on the road or so I thought

Try greasing the universal joints, Thats pretty much the fix for the 1st gen Tacoma's
there was a tsb on gen 1's for this problem, said to purge the universals with new grease.

Mine does it too, from time to time.
I had an Isuzu Rodeo and a Vehicross that both did it occationally.
I'm sure someone will work it out, but for now, and for how little it happens, I an't worried.

could be seized u joint, when tranny goes to auto, no more load, so driveshaft drops down. happened to jens truck and her u-joints finally exploded
