Does anyone know if you have to drill a hole to install a nfab nerf steps? or is it just a simple bolt on type of thing? And is it really functional? is it slippery when wet? Sorry i have a lot of questions. I just don't want to spend a lot of money and end up not happy.

the pix below is not my truck, i just got the pix from www.performanceproducts4trucks.com just to show the side steps that I was talking about. But I do have the 4 door and short bed.

    Thank you.

I got those steps for my Tacoma, have an 06 Double Cab with the long bed and they look sweet! I didn't need to drill anything, very simple and easy bolt-on to the underside of the doors, not the frame like I thought. But even though they are not bolted to the frame, they are still very stiff with no sway or sag.

They are a little slippery when wet, but you can add rubber strips for a better grip. I haven't gotten around to that because I or any of my passengers have had any problems or complaints.

Go for it, I still haven't found any that look better on them, in my opinion. By the way, I also got them from Performance Products by the 405 and Roscoe, I think they have the lowest prices on them.

Thank you MannyECG, It made my decision much easier. I've seen it on pictures but never in person. And to me, it looks great! It's good to know that I don't have to drill anything because I do not own a drill. :) And it cost a lot to have it installed in the shop. I might go this weekend and get it. Thanks again.

Hey, I was wondering if you order through Performance Products, can you get Powdercoat in White? They show black powder coat and OEM paint but wasn't sure if they would do powdercoat white

Don't know if they offer the white powdercoat. You might want to give them a call and ask @ 800-578-8132

if it is the OEM paint from NFAB then it is powdercoat, by the way that truck in the picture is located here in rosenberg and is frickin' awesome in person. My steps have the 2" tube instead of the 3" tube like that truck has. The 2" tube looks more like a slider with a step hanging from it. I would've actually preferred the 3" tube but the place I went to couldn't get them anymore for some reason. Either way they look badass, definitely the best step on the market for the truck.

I actually called N-fab and there is the OEM paint and then there is Powder Coat. The OEM paint is not powdercoat. I was just wondering if Perfomance products is able to get price powdercoat white.

check out the ones from Go Rhino..Dominator II. they are about the same design. i think another solution for the slippery when wet, is i believe Herculiner sells their product in a aresol can. you could spray that on the step to prevent slippage.

Have you noticed if that flange under the door has started to bend? Just doesn't seem like a strong spot to mount somthing that is suppose to hold up the weight of the bar and a person.

Anyone know if the steps for a regular cab will fit an access cab? I don't want two actual steps on my nerf bar, I'd prefer the look of one step. No one rides in the back of my truck anyway.

I have the go rhino dominator II steps and love them. 2.5" diameter and come with a non-slip step. No problems with them. Bolt right into the truck like the nfabs do. No drilling. Saw my 250# brother in law step on it to get in my truck. Made me nervous but it didn't budge. Got mine last year from truckcandy and arrived in 2 days.

I have the N-Fabs on. They are a simple bolt on installation into the factory supplied holes on the bottom of our trucks. The supplied bolts are just regular bolts you would find at home depot. I just used a lil lock tite on them. Make sure you have an extra hand to help you out during the install. I havent had he chance to test them out when it's raining to see if they are slippery, but they are much more functional than the factory tube steps that sit very close to the cab. I have a DC short bed as well and opted for the cab length model.

Has anyone seen any sweet deals on the Rhinos lately. I have been looking around and found them in the 300$range.

One more - are all the Rhinos a 2.5 tube? I know nfab makes a 2 and 3

I got the actual N-Fab ones for 312 from performance4trucks. I don't know if the RBP ones are exactly the same. Judging by the picture it looks the same.

Thanks BlueXenon, do you feel like the actual steps that hang over the bar a bit are solid? How long have you had them?
