Im in the process of cleaning my throttle body and i noticed that the butterfly seems to not close all the way. Maybe its supposed to be like this, but i would think that it would close all the way. This meaning perpendicular to airflow. It sits at almost perpendicular, but is open slightly on top and bottom.

I am not very mechanically inclined, so bare with me.

    Thanks!

Edit: I also can push on the butterfly and make it close all the way....this is what made me think it wasnt right.

Thats normal. If it closed all the way, Your engine would die when you let off the gas.

It is a safety feature of all modern throttle bodies. If for some reason, be it electrically or mechanically the throttle fails, it won't kill the engine and loose power steering or power brakes.
