I keep finding these little trivia pieces in the news. Funny where the Tacoma will pop up. Look at the press release for July 22nd on the link. Last entry on the green side of the list of the best picks for "healthiest" new car. The ratings are based on the amount of chemicals released from a new car (that new car smell) and Tacoma rates as one of the best picks meaning it has some of the lowest chemical emissions for a new vehicle.

Yeah dumb little factoids but I think they're fun.

You can also find the information in AutoBlog here http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/30/mitsubishi-eclipse-spyder-wins-for-most-toxic-new-car-smell/

seven months and 5000 miles later my wife still tells me my truck smells 'new'...
and i joked it's the toxic carpet fumes.

so what is it then? ;)

You know, If Toyota marketed a "Tacoma New Car Febreeze Spray" I would so buy it. Hmmm...I wonder if I could profit from selling this idea to Toyota.

I've had mine for two months and I have 7,300 miles. At least it still smells new, too. :D

Overall the new car aroma in the Tacoma is pleasant. But on damp humid days when the truck is sealed up for a time, it sorta smells like cat pee. And when it:rain:'s you want to :puke:Leaving the windows cracked helps some. Maybe it is because I have the baby $hit brown interior?
