I have shown my fair share of pics here ;), now it's time to help a brotha out. I (hopefully) am going to buy a shell tomorrow. I really liked the Undercover tonneau, but it limits the things I want to do....costwise, I found that for around $300 more than an Undercover, I could get a decent Leer shell.

I am thinking about getting a Leer 100R ($1075) with the adventure package ($514). I am also going to try to get a gun box installed in mine.

This is the shell from Leer's website. There are better looking shells, they're just out of my price range. Post some pics of your shells and provide some details (options, likes/dislikes, cost, etc) and advice if you have it. Thanks guys!

Yeah, on my investigations, I found that the price of the toppers, and tonneaus, etc were just a few hundred less than a shell.

Found the tops to be impractical, since I had to remove them for a large item, so I spent a little more on a shell.

Will post pics when it's here in 3 weeks. OH, got a A.R.E., Z series.

The Snugtops are sweet, dealer option on new tacos, and hella expensive. The Super Sports start at over $2000. Way out of my price range, but damn good looking.

Leers are really good shells. After I blew $1700 on the Snugtop (I really dug the style) I learned that the leers have all the fit/finish and quality materials that mine has. for LESS! (but I hadda have them cargo bars on top that nobody else has:D)

OK, done. I just ordered a Leer 100XR....can't seem to find a pic of one to post. I chickened out and didn't get the rack and gun box built in. Too much money. With headliner, and removable front slider it came to about $1500 w/o tax, installed. Now if it will only get here before 9/11 (1600 mile road trip)! I even offered to send nudies of my wife to the Leer plant manager to make sure they expedite it's arrival!

Ultimately I will. My salesman had a badass '05 DC Taco with a Leer 100XQ and a Bedrug. I looked sweet. They are way nice. I believe he told me 400 something, installed. I think I get one later and install it myself.

I am in Canada and we seem to pay way too much based on a dollar that is hovering close to the greenback. I was just quoted $1600 for LEER XL with sliding front window, quick connect, roof light and install..If I can save a few hundred bucks I am making a run for the border. About 1.5 hrs away.

    XL was 1600
    XQ was 1875

Seriously? There many purposes, main ones would be secure/dry storage/hauling. I'll be buying one myself with a child on the way and two dogs.
