My Tacoma has 48k on it and i hear the engine racing while driving at high speed 50 MPH + it sound like the transmission does not go into third gear!!! that kind of noise , the Tachometer reads around 1500 RPM at 55 MPH ,it does not sound right? has anyone experienced this problem? i m going to the dealer today

I'd be looking first at shifter adjustment to see if in fact it is going into drive. I'd also be looking around for vacuum lines that fell off or any burning smell in the cab or wetness around the transmission or puddling on the ground. Check the fluid level too. TBH mine's not an automatic, but 1500 at 55 doesn't seem out of line.

i went to the dealer told them i like to test drive the car with the Technician, also asked him to do an Oil Change and Tire rotation , an hour later he coes and tell me the car is done , I asked what about the test drive , he said " am not sure " the Techician says Truck needs Bearings, and they had ordered it and for me to go next week and get it installed. !!! I guess the nose i heard was the Bearing, Mind ya 99% of my driving is on HWY , and iam just under 50000 miles and the bearing is gone already ??? the dealer said its covered under warranty ?? another puzzle here??? at least is not going to cost me , anyone knowes of any recall on this item ???

Yeah 1500RPM at 55 is normal. By the time i get to 60 its in between the 1500 and 2000RPM markers.
