I appears that I'm a good bit older than many Tacoma owners on this forum. All this means is I've had a chance to own a whole lot of cars in my lifetime and therefore have lots to compare my Tacoma against. I've had a few low-end cars (anyone remember the Chevrolet Vega) and a handful of fairly expenseive cars (Acura Legend, Cadillac CTS, Lincoln Navigator, Corvette Zr1 and Z06).

I drive my Tacoma every day and just turned 50K miles. I know that's not a huge number of miles but the point of this thread is simply to say, what a great vehicle. Except for a few paint chips, I don't think my truck feels, rides, or performs any different today (and 50K miles later) than when it was new.

Last year I did the leaf spring TSB and put a set of 5100's on it to level it. This year I just put a set of 265/70-17 Michelin MS2 10ply trires on it. The tires are very smooth and very quite. Great road tires.

There may be plenty of vehicles just as good as Toyota but not too many any better than the Tacoma. Great job Toyota!

As an official old fart I have to agree with the OP. I have 63,000 miles on my '09 5 lug and it still feels tight and ready for anything.

Not sure... I'd have to ask my kids.... According to them I've been an old fart for a very long time.
