I bought my Taco in April from Miramar Trucks and opted to get the additional extended warranty. Usually I wouldn't go with one, but since I didn't know where the truck had been or what it had gone through, I decided to go ahead with it.

A couple weeks later, I started noticing a vibration coming from the truck whenever I was driving around 30 mph. Took it in to the dealership to run a diagnostic.

Went from "nothing is showing up on the diagnostic" to "you're probably just low on transmission fluid" to "we're replacing the transmission, drive shaft, and rear trans mount" ???? Idk how it went from low fluid to completely replacing the trans and shaft.

Any-who, the Extended warranty I opted to get with the truck came in for the win, and I only had to pay $100 out of a $5300 service bill. :D

I bought it with around 98800 miles on it, and service mileage read 100915 when I took it in.

I know the mileage is high... but isn't that what Yota's are known for? My 96 4Runner has almost 230,000 and only major work done on that was replace the oil pan!

It's really nice to know it worked out for you! But what blows me away is that they offered an extended warranty with so many miles, did not know they did that.

If you don't mind... how much did it cost you to get?

The place I bought it from (Miramar Trucks) sells only Toyota trucks and SUV's. They give a power-train warranty that's included with every vehicle they sell. They also offer an extended warranty through a separate company, which is the one I opted to get.

The warranty was somewhere around 1800 I believe
