How often do you guy change it on your 4 cylinder trucks?
What other maintenance you guys suggest I do? I have about 60k and only have done the oil changes every 4500. I know I gotta flush and replace the tranny fluid soon.

I check my OEM filter every oil change, and replace when needed.

I clean out my AFE filter every 15,000 or so.

With the stock filter, I'd just change it when I could see it was starting to get dirty? Seems like once or twice a year was more than enough.

Went from 17 mpg to 22 mpg and I have a noticable hp gain.
You would be fine if you put the right amount of oil on the filter instead of dipping it in a 5 gallon bucket of oil.

An Air filter isnt going to give a significant gain in HP. The difference between an OEM filter, and NO filter in the air box is about 2 hp.

Enough of a difference to not have to shift on hills. No lugging on hills in 5th where I used to have to shift to 4th. I know 5th is just overdrive but it works without problems up long hills. I also did the deck plate mod a while ago and just recently switched from stock filter to k&n but there was still a noticable difference in mpg and hp since the switch.

The gain was from the deck plate mod.
