    I'm doing a homelink auto dimming mirror swap and was about to remove the stock mirror when I realized this mirror setup is different than any other I'd come across before.

    My question is in regards to the attachment to the windshield;

    I see there is a slot on the base of the mirror mounting base, and am figuring I'm supposed to use a slotted screwdriver...or some special removal tool....

    Anybody removed the mirror before and know how to do it?

    Thanks, Pat

    Tom,

    Here is what my Haynes manual saids to remove the inside mirror.

    "Pry between the mirror mount and the notch in the base of the mirror stalk with a screwdriver tip covered with tape. There is a hairpin-type spring holding the mirror stalk in the base. Push the screwdriver about 3/4-inch to release the spring."

    Be careful and don't force it or you could crack your windshield.

    I have not tried this.

    Hope this helps.

    George

    I figured it out, it doesn't require any tools at all.

    Simply pull upwards, parallel direction.
