Cruise control question ('07 model year)

I have a buddy who just picked up a super clean '07 regular cab 4x4 SR5. It didn't have factory cruise so he took it to an aftermarket shop to have it installed. This is the same shop that did mine on my '09. MY cruise is on a stem on the right side of the column, HIS is a funky steering wheel control thing that he doesn't like. He says they told him that there is no aftermarket one for an '07 that uses the stem. Anyone know better?

 

My 06 factory system is on the steering wheel (kind of behind the wheel, but ya get the idea...) perfect place for me.

 

Were '07's on the wheel or on a stem?

 

Should be on the wheel -- I doubt Toyota changed that.
