I know its been beat to death and I searched but I need an answer!:D

    09 6cy 6 sp Tacoma.

I did my first oil change using Mobil 1 and a Toyota filter. I changed the filter around 3500 miles. I have a little over 5,000 miles on the oil. I used 5w30 as the cap says.

I reset the maintenance light after the oil change. I'm guessing the light is programed for 3,000 miles is this correct? Tonight the light is on, last few weeks it just blinked at start up. Truck runs fine though.

I plan on ordering a bulk of filters. So do I disregard the light and keep running for a few more miles? Or change it as soon as I get my Toyota filters?

My light starts flashing around 4500-4700 miles (I think) and goes steady around 4990 and stays on until I re-set it.

    back to bone stock.

i change it when the light comes on. simply because i cant stand a flashy distraction on the dash lights. you could wait, easy.
