Did you guys do any sort of clear coating to allow it to stand up to pressure washing? My experience with the stuff is that you could just start to peel it off with a quick swipe of a fingernail...

I've had mine on my emblems and valance for many washed now. No problems without any clear. The thicker you put it on the better it is, I'm talking 6-8 coats. I also have my entire rhino dipped and its not coming off at all either.

That is great. Amazing that it sticks to chrome without "etching", sanding, etc.
    Thanks for the reply! D

I have a 2013 Spruce Mica, and have seriously considered plasti-dipping the grill and rear bumper in black... still haven't gotten used to all the chrome yet.

clean chrome, dry, DERP IT! its pretty amazing stuff. Practice though, i did it like regular spray paint, just light coats and stuff and it came out rough. You gotta do it thicker and it will be smooth.

I did mine back in March 2013. The only prep that I did was I cleaned off the emblems with rubbing alcohol. Some people use Windex. Others use Pre Dip Spray from Dipyourcar.com. Any of these will work to prep your area to have it dip.

Do light coat passes. Do at least 4 coats. The bottle says to let sit and dry for 30 minutes, no one does that. I've done 15 minute coats and never had an issue. At the last coat, wait 10 minutes to dry and start peeling the tape and excess dip off. Dip must be partly wet.
If its fully dry you might end up taking the dip off you may not want.

Second picture was done of steering wheel emblem last week.

How many spray cans did it take to dip the rhino?
