I oiled all of the pulleys and it doesn't go away, I have read that it could be the alternator but the noise is coming from both sides. I will upload a vid soon.

    Any ideas?

Did you pull off the belt and see how the pulleys feel by hand? Sounds like a bad idler or tensioner pulley to me. Adding external oil to the pulleys isn't likely to do anything to them, but not good for the belt if it gets on it.

    The better coast
My 2010 civic with 15k on it was making a wining noise like that. Turned out I had a cracked power steering pump with extremely low fluid. If the sound increases when you turn the wheel I would look into that.

This is the noise I heard before getting it fixed, needed new pump, pinion rack the whole shabang.

Times like this you need a stethoscope so you can put it on or near each suspected component. Sometimes the power steering fluid looks like it's the correct level, but it can be a burnt film left over and stained to the plastic reservoir. It could be any of the above, but it might be worth it to actually pull the power steering cap off and check the stick.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find the origin of this whining sound!!

My Taco has been plagued with this noise since the day I bought it, and it showed no indication of ever being in mud prior to the purchase. I've checked, flushed, and refilled the PS reservoir with
Lucas stop leak PS fluid, and it didn't help at all. I think it's an idler gone bad, but I haven't had the time to take it apart and check them one by one.

    Subbed for the end result!

I thiught Thats what it might be.. Just checked the pulleys and they aren't that bad, all 3 were just a little wore equally just a little slack in the bearing but still spun freely. I'm sure it's not power steering.then I looked underneath the truck and found this this.

I know it just started leaking. I was just under here a week ago. I ran the truck hard (high RPMs) this weekend.

First, with the belt off, start the truck and see if the noise is still there.

Second, that leak is most likely your crank seal, replace that before it gets too bad.

I just did a crank seal on a 4.0 tundra today. Mine went like a year ago. The tundra was a little easier than ours, but they still aren't that bad.
