Alignment cost

What are you paying for an alignment on your lifted Tacoma?

 

Same price as a when it wasnt lifted. Around $90 i think.

 

$150 lifetime alignment from firestone

Me too. I took mine to a "specialty shop" the first time. They told me I got the numbers I asked for, but never gave me any documentation. Handled like crap so I have Firestone check it, and only have 1.2* caster. I took the before printout to the first shop and the guy just shrugged.

 

I got a special Firestone runs often on their lifetime alingment- been in twice now, once when I installed my 5100's, then when I put on the new tires. It pays for itself trust me, even if your not banging your truck around like some do often.

 

I paid 90 at toyota when i got my oil changed.(free oil)

 

Most places have a life time warranty plan or 1 year unlimited alignments. I have one through Sears Automotive and it's $188. It's paid for itself already.

 

Cost is always a concern but I would gladly pay whatever the going rate is to find someone I felt was doing a "Good" job.

I went round and round with my Local Volvo shop on my wife's S60R a few years back. The so called "tech" showed me the print out and 3 of the 4 were BARELY in spec. and 1 was slightly out. I asked him why he, at the least, didn't get the 1 corner that was out back in. His response was "if I mess with that 1 corner that is slightly out it will likely change the others and put them out of spec. since they are nearly out now." I stood there in absolute disbelief as to what he just said. After a LONG and heated discussion with the service manager they took my wife's car to another shop and they paid someone else to re-align it. I wasn't about to let them touch it again.

Finding someone that actually knows what they are looking at and cares about making it "right" is far more important, to me at least, than the cost.

I got a lifetime plan at my local Firestone for around $170. I'm already two alignments in.. Now that my lift has settled, I'll probably bring it back in for another alignment.

 

$50 is the usual for a front end alignment. I never get all 4 wheels since there isn't much you can do in the rear.

 

It's really the best deal. After the second or third time it's already paid for itself.

Thanks everyone. Looks like a C note or so for life time alignment is the way to go. Would the local Goodyear shop do this? They seem to be everywhere around here.

i received a coupon in the mail from toyota for an alignment for $60 instead of the normal $90 so i used it.

they can only align the front wheels on a truck pretty much. the rear axle doesn't have adjustments.

 

Firestone do lifted trucks? 8" lifted?

 

49.99 after some hagling at big brand.... honestly dont think ill be going back there as they didnt even come close to torquing down the bolts properly.
