    Hi all,

I recently obtained a Blend Mount to hang my radar detector underneath my rear view mirror. Installing the mount was simple; however, I am having quite a bit of difficulty tapping into the power from the rear view mirror.

I have an '11 Tacoma Prerunner with a back up camera in the mirror.

According to the Blend Mount instructions, I need to plug the black MTPC clip into the ground wire and the red MTPC clip into the 12 volt wire. The instructions are generic and do not specify which color to use.

I have tried searching and have been unable to find the diagram, anyone know which is which?

I unplugged it and put wire in the holes and used a volt meter to determine the +12v. I listed it in the Valentine One thread. Couldn't remember what wires now. Also on my iPhone. Search and you'll see.

    Follow up.

Here are pictures (after some trial and error) of the wires I plugged into.

Radar detector comes on/off with key turn of the ignition.

How did you determine which wire/hole to insert the mirrortaps ground wire into? Arent most of them grounded?

    To be honest, rather unscientifically.

    Trail and error.

I can't tell what the wire color was for the proper 12V & Ground. Has anyone ever came up with an actual diagram? Best I can tell the Blue was your ground. And I cant see the color or pin location of the 12V at all. Could you clarify?

    Here you go.
    Looks like
Pin 1 Light Green is switched ignition
    Pin 2 White/Black is ground
Pin 8 Red is battery power

And you sir are my new hero! Question though, the schematic is clear. My tap's Hot (red) to LT. Green my tap's ground to white/Black. But should I not want some sort of circuit protection possibly in the form of an inline fuse? Educate me.

My Taco is a 2012 Prerunner with the fancy mirror, backup, compass etc. Is this diagram correct? The diagram is labeled "2012 Toyota Tacoma Base" I'll ring it out myself to confirm. This gives me a place to start at the very least. What is the consensus concerning an inline fuse?

Ideally you would use a fuse that is lower amperage than the fuse that is in the circuit but since the circuits both have their own fuses it's not an absolute requirement.

He meant the thread was from 14, the diagram I posted is for a 2012 truck.

I know I was just trying to answer the question that was currently being asked, not really worried about when the thread originated.

Thanks for the info, I now understand about the 14 comment, though I don't see the relevance.

Question out of curiosity, Is the NCA not a ground as well? And what is the reference CGND? Is it for (continuous ground)? Also what color does NCA represent?

NCA (No Color Available) This mean the manufacturer didn't provide a color.
I'm assuming CGND is the camera ground but I can't be sure, I wouldn't use it for a ground anyway use the dedicated mirror ground.

That sounds like the best thing to do for sure. Thank you for taking the time, I really appreciate it. I had looked for the schematic for a while. Is there an all-inclusive whole truck reference available somewhere?

Taken from another Thread but applies here.

Well finally made time to hardwire the V1 this past Wednesday. I used the Rearview Mirror diagram a TW brother provided that I believe showed the #1 pin position as Lt. Green as ignition switched 12V power and White & Black as Ground.

Well, this was accurate and she is all done and done. One little unexpected quirk I found was that when you go into reverse, power is cut to the Lt. Green wire thus killing whatever you are powering. LOL Hopefully no one here needs a V1 while in reverse. Other than that all is well!

    Peace-Love & Taco's

Interesting, the diagram must not be entirely correct then because it shows that wire coming directly from the IG2 fuse which is hot in run or start.

Interesting give me a sec and I get my copy. Never really looked downstream of the mirror connector.

OK Right but let's look at the ground. Is it an uninterrupted circuit?
