What are good looking side steps?

Starting to look into side steps for my 2012 double cab. Any recommendation or product to stay away from?

 

If your planning on doing any offroading, take a look at Rock sliders. But otherwise I like N-Fab bars

 

Very little off roading

 

BAMF rock sliders with filler plates

Will take the abuse of off roading but still function as steps.

 

I went with nFab before sliders. They look good and help the vertically challenged, but offer no protection for your truck.

 

I like the factory steps but they are not sliders by any means. Just look good and give short people some help getting in.

 

Avid bolt ons

 

These are factory from Toyota? I've never seen these. Any links to get a better look?

 

I just put GO RHINO Dominator II's on my '13. They had removable cleats which I plan to take off and spray with bed liner and add some sand for grit.

 

Ya those should be the faactory ones like I have but I have made my own metal sliders under mine now.

I went with Avid. Heavy duty and American made..

 

If you don't offroad then you don't need sliders. So I would say either nfabs or the OEM running boards (http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=31714) look the best. Nfabs are really popular.

 

Avid off road bolt ons. Even the wife is happy with them.

 

OEM running boards. IMO they look good, provide a place to step, & protect truck.

 

So far it seems everybody is right. I have to agree with Pugga though. For just about the same money as a set of steps you can get the BAMF sliders right now because he's doing a 30% off sale and get the fill plates. It never hurts to be really protected, all it takes is one log or rock on one of his few offroading trips to ruin the rocker panels. Just my 2c's.

I like my powder coated ones from the factory....

 

Those are nice but they still sit up high, I needed the drop downs for my little kids. Also, I just priced them and came out to about $450.
