4 cyl vs 6 cyl engine durability

Looking to purchase a new Tacoma this spring but am indecisive about whether to get a 4 cylinder vs V6. Is there any data available which supports one engine being more durable, trouble free and easier to maintain than the other?

I am looking at matching one of these engines with an automatic transmission.

both engines are engineered to go 250,000 miles without a major mechanical issue. That being said, the 1GR is still kinda new to have too many miles on it. I have a friend qith the 2.7 and he had over 650,000 miles on his with only fluids, a few batteries, 3 starters, and a valve job done to it.

The Toyota 4 cylinder is what set the standard, what made them famous for the reliability unmatched by any other automaker. Can't go wrong with either, I went with the 4 though and have no regrets, it does everything I need it to do with power to spare. 37k on it now, not one issue, but it wont be broke in til about 150k

Both are extremely durable... it's not really an issue. If you haul some weight or tow get the 6, otherwise 4 is great.
