Does anyone have one on their Taco and where did you get it from????

I'm looking for one for the upcoming fishing/beach/off-roading trips this year and it seems I have to install a hitch on the front of my truck to mount it there or put it in the factory hitch that came stock.

I have a 2012 tacoma with off road package.

To install a hitch on the front of the truck you either have to remove the skid plate or modify it. And just as an FYI when you put a rack on the front of the truck you get a lot of glare from the rack an the cooler at night. If your windows are at all dirty your going to have a hard time seeing.

That was my next question. I guess to have one I need to have a hitch installed. I kind of figured that looking at the website you posted here for me. I took a look at the front of my truck and I thought the skid plate would have to go. Or I can just be safe with it (or more dangerous) and just get this and attach it to my hitch on the back of the truck. I just like the look having it up front.

Also I saw some that drill into the truck on a plate??? Maybe that's not for the Toyota spec's.

I'd rather just put one on the back.

I like the look of it on the front but I agree with the earlier post that it can be a pain at night. I have one for the hitch on the back on my current truck and I think it works better.

I'd like to see the set-up of what you have. Take your time with it. Still a little early for me to start fishing although around here it's practically year round. I'd like to have something for the summer and when I go off-roading on the beach if there's anything left after hurricane sandy.

That actually looks nice on the back! I like the setup you have. I guess the cops have to break chops over the plates!? That's a bit much if you ask me especially if you got a ticket. Unless it's a law. I'll have to look into it. That's one reason why I was thinking about adding it to the front.

Yeah soon enough it'll be fishing season. Just hope the beaches will be ready for the trucks and beach-goers.
