Differentials/Traction Control Changes in 2009 TRD's

I've looked everywhere and there is so much conflicting information, so i'm asking here.

From my understanding,
2005-2008 TRD Sport's have a limited slip rear differential (electronic), while the front is open.
2005-2008 TRD OR's have a e-locking rear differential, and an open front.

2009-2013 TRD Sport's have the same as the previous version, but have full TRAC over all four wheels.
2009-2013 TRD OR's have an e-locking rear differential, A-TRAC, and TRAC over all four wheels as well.

My question is if this is all correct, and also how much offroad ability I would be sacrificing getting a pre-2009 TRD Sport. I'm in Canada so simply getting a pre-2009 OR isn't an option as I want the DCSB, and they weren't sold up here with the TRD OR package.

if the Canada trucks are the same, 2005-2008 have mechanical limited slip rear differentials in the Sport models only. off roads have the e-locker.

in 2009, all trucks were outfitted with electronic limited slip rears (brake actuated). plus traction control (trac). im not sure when vsc was introduced. the off-roads are the only ones available with atrac, I believe 2009-current. atrac is the only limited slip option that affects all 4 tires, in 4wd. I believe all the other electronic doo-dads to be wastes of time

 

Sadly I can't get a used DCSB OR here in Canada, so i'm stuck with the Sport as a DC is more important for me.

I'm leaning towards a 2009 or newer for the TRAC and VSC over the m-LSD on the older models. While it might limit me offroad a bit, the added safety on the roads here would be nice to have. I do a fair bit of driving in nasty weather on packed snow roads, so it might be safer for my on-road use.

If I ever need the offroad prowess i'll look into an ARB locker. The 17" rims will also have to go right away in place of 16"s for better tire selection and more sidewall.

Why not get an SR5 DC , and add lockers

 

I've been keeping my eye on those as well, but there's a lot less of them around. The only thing I think i'd be missing there is the bed power outlet and on the newer TRD's the aux in and heated seats.

 

Heated seats are an option with the leather seats , they aren't a given on a TRD Sport

I have a 2009 Sport without the leather / heated seats

 

The big thing is availability on the SR5's. There's 20+ Sports in my area but only 3 SR5's with 4x4 and neither of them are DC's.

Any benefit to going with the SR5? Ideally i'd have a DCSB OR but none in Canada that I can find in my price range and the work going over the border isn't worth it when a locker is 1000$ or so.

 

Just saying you can buy a DC SR5 ( long or short box ) and add a locker for the same cost or cheaper than buying a DCSB Offroad
