Lately I've been getting an odd rumble from the subwoofer and I was wondering if anyone had replaced their speaker and could suggest a replacement that will fit in the box.

    Thanks

does it happen only with the CD, and only on bassy songs?

It can happen on about anything and it comes and goes. One day it will be fine and the next it will drive you nuts. Mostly CDs.

well the 09's w/ JBL and sub have a known issue with the amp that causes a blowing in a microphone sound thru the sub. I've not heard of the issue on 08's, but thats not to say its not the same issue. your warranty covers the JBL system, what did the dealer say?

It was fine for the first year and just started up a couple of weeks ago. The sound is an odd rumble rather than a blowing in a microphone sound. The local dealer isnt in business right now since the general manager and a couple of others decided to steal 80 new vehicles and sell them at auction. The FBI found most of them in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas.
The next nearest dealer is 1.5 hours away and I dont have time to drive down there for something this small. I replaced the other speakers soon after I got the truck but didnt take the time to rip out the back to replace the subwoofer. I want to replace that Junk But Loud speaker too so I was just looking to see if someone had done it so I could get one before I started tearing everything apart.

well I'd say its prolly the amp, maybe the sub. I don't think a new amp will cost a fortune, if you want to throw parts at it and hope for the best. Get the part # off of it and order it from your dealer, have them ship it to you.

I just recently purchased an 08 DC Tacoma and I've noticed that "blowing in a mic" sound a few times. This has been what others on here have been getting their amps replaced for, correct?

Is your system all stock? Sometimes aftermarket RCA's can have issues. If it comes and goes, I'd start checking your connections.
