I just bought a new 2014 Tacoma double cab TRD Off Road with tow package. The window sticker lists in the tow package description "7 pin converter." I can't find a 7 pin converter in the truck. The glove box contained two connectors for plugging the backup camera cables if the tailgate is removed and a brake controller connector with pigtails that has 5 pins. The sales rep tells me he'll get me whatever I'm missing but he just looks at other Tacomas on the lot and finds the same items in the glove box. He can't tell me what the 7 pin converter listed on the sticker is. Does anyone know if the 7 pin converter listed is a 7 pin to 4 pin flat connector converter for the trailer lights connector, which is what I'm thinking it is and did anyone buy a Tacoma that came with that converter? They sell what I'm thinking it is as an accessory:

I would go back to the dealer you got it from, and inform them the part was missing.

Mine was missing also when I bought my truck. I called the sales man back, and he we went walking around looking for one from another tacoma. Even got him to get me another set of bed tie downs lol. Sorry if we took the one out of your truck.

    Things I need to tow.
The window sticker on my truck says "7 Pin Connector w/Converter". I think the "converter" reference is likely for the "service connector" that's described in the owner's manual and allows you to connect a trailer brake controller. (It came in the glove box with the tailgate camera part.) I've never seen a Tacoma come with a 7 pin to 4 pin adaptor as standard equipment and wouldn't expect to. That doesn't mean you couldn't talk the dealer out of one of you needed it.

It doesn't come with the 7 pin to 4 pin converter that you are thinking of.

Toyota may mean the trailer wiring is "converted" to US-style turn signal/brake lights versus rest of the world separate turn signals. Previous Mazda truck I had required adding a converter box to feed the 4 pole trailer wiring.
