Plastic Bed Rail Covers

hey guys,
gonna mount the roll bar to the top of the bed, the bed rails or whatever, and not sure exactly what is under the plastic cover...... anyone ever take that off??

it seems like there is a push pin type connector near the tail gate, kinda like for the door pannels, but not sure how it is being held all along the bed rails..... do you just pull upwards and pop it off???? i sure don't wanna break anything

How did you bolt the bar to top of bed rails? Would really like to get your input. I need to bolt a rack to the rail as well.

There are two clips, one at each end of the cover, the middle part is held in by plastic tabs (some will break/bend when you remove the cover).

 

Taking off the rail cap is easy enough. I’m wondering how to bolt my rack onto the bed rail frame rather than using the factory bed track. I figure someone here has done that...
