oh wait it goes all the way down to 30 seconds then after that is bulb and bulb means you can hold it down for as long as you want

I feel the best way to shoot to start in in Aperture priority. Set the mode dial to "A" and then when you spin the command dial you are actually adjusting the aperture. It will probably be easier to get the shots if you let the camera choose the shutter speed (S or shutter priority is where you choose the shutter and the camera adjusts the aperture. Hell use P then just snap). You will find that the lower the number on the aperture the faster the shutter. The higher the number the slower the shutter. experiment and read the manual. And shoot. Just shoot anything and everything. SHoot in the sun and shoot in the dark. Shoot in your house and shoot with a mouse. Then just delete eveything you don't like. It's that simple.

I know that the D60 has a shutter range from 1/4000 to 30s and a bulb feature. When adjusting your apature look for a shutter speed of no slower than 1/30 (Even at this speed your subject needs to be pretty still. A regualr human can hold a 1/15-1/12 shutter still if they try really hard. Anything slower and you will get camera shake.

Not sure if the D60 lens comes with a Vibration Reduction (VR), if it does use it. Also screw with the ISO and white balance, with the WB you can get some crazy shots. Buy memory card as often as you came, you can never have to much storage. I also like the faucet.

+1 on WB, ISOand memory cards. Try some outrageously high ISOs, like 3200. Effect can be cool.

    alright alright

i have a 2g memory card so im good for now

and yes it does come with VR

but when your on M or S setting how do you let more light come into the lens....

because all of my pictures in those modes turn out almost 100% black

like does the f-number have anything to do with it?

when your in manual and shutter priority are you shooting in low light conditions? If yes you need a slow shutter and high ISO like 800-1000.

I started with 2gigs and now up to 32 gigs with few cards.
