I bought a new DC and would like to keep it clean for a while but also provide a little comfort for my dog since the hard plastic isn't that comfortable for him. So I decided to make a custom seat cover / pad for the pup. Its just a moving blanket that I measured out and cut so I could have my sewing lady sew it all together. My favorite thing about it is, that all the dirt and mud from the dog and other stuff stays on it and all I need to do is vacuum it, pull it out and shake it off or toss it in the washer. This is just round 1, I have already found some thing I would like to change and make a little better. I will let this one wear out and improve the next one.

    Cool man
that looks like someting even i could do and i have a couple of packing blankets already.
did you cut holes for the headrest post?

I've put my dog in with the seats down and she kept slipping in the shelf space.
does the blanket ofer enough support or did you stuff a towel or something in there?
    thanks

Nice, I am going to copy that. I have 400 miles on my new DC and I have a 7 month old GSD that likes to get out and play. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, I just poked holes into the blanket for the head rests then had my sewing lady sew around them. For the second version I want to find eyelits big enough for the headrest to slide through as well as the back hooks and also add a flap and button to secure the back to the seat D loops.
For the bottom I used the extra blanket fabric and tripled up the bottom for more padding.

You should just use grommets for the head rest holes. I like this idea but it would still leave the ability for my dog to mess up my sub and amp. I'll have to figure out a way to make it work. Maybe some removable protection for in front of the box

Looks good! I bought one like this only in just a nylon/canvas material. You leave the seats in the normal position and it hooks on all 4 headrests. I like it that way because the dog can't get into the behind the seat stuff, which also stays more secure, and it leaves a cubby on the floor you can still access.

The thing I don't like about mine though is it's a little slippery and the dog sometimes slides around on it. A moving blanket would fix that up and still be good and durable. Where'd you find the blanket? For that matter I could use some moving blankets anyways for, you know... moving.
