rear shock extenders

does anyone have these? i am not lifted i have the rear TSB, would there be any real benefit to having these? i have had my suspension both bottom and top out while on the beach on vacation

 

Just buy real shocks, there is a weak link using them things.

The idea with those is that if you lift the rear 2-3", the extenders will allow your rear axle to drop as much as it would pre-lift; normal length shocks will be fully extended and stop the droop of your rear tires before the leafspring want to stop drooping, after lifting.

For example, let's just say your rear tire will drop 10" at stock. Then you lift it 3", now your rear tire will drop 13", but the stock shock only wants to drop 10" still = add the extender and now the stock shock will drop to the full 13".

I've never heard of an extender breaking on a Taco shock (doesn't mean it hasn't/won't happen). The design seems stout enough for all but the most rugged users. It does look funny IMO, but is a real cheap alternative to buying longer shocks.

If you're not lifted, you will not gain any benefits. Actually, you will be making your stock shocks bottom out 2" prematurely.
