I'm thinking of making the jump from my Jetta to a Tacoma. I noticed that there are several 2003's and 04's with leather interior, but I can't find many beyond 2005. Is Leather an option or is it an aftermarket thing?

    Thanks

It is currently not a factory option, however, they do have aftermarket for about 1500.00

thanks. now i need to figure out which one I want and at what price. I hate this part of car shopping.

I see that on the 2006 models you can get $1500 cash back and only 500 on the 2007.

I'm looking for a 4x4 Double Cab preferably with a manual trans. Black Silver or dark red.

I'm in Louisiana and will be looking around here as well as in Texas. I hear that now is the best time to buy... Dec...

Get the 07 unless you get a freaking good deal on the 06. :gossip:

Welcome and good choice, I agree get the 07 because there is no difference in the truck and likely not a big difference in the amount you will pay. The difference will come in down the road in say four years when you wnt to sell it. There is not a leather option yet but can be added on. Good luck

Where can you pick up the aftermarket leather? Is there a place online or do you have to take it to an upholstry shop to have it custom made?

I don't know about way down in GA, butall the way up here, the toyota dealership will do it for us, I am currently looking in to it myself, just not sure I want the leather unless it's heated and then its another 400 perseat. hmm

Heated seats are over rated. Unless you are hooked on them, its a waste of $$$. I had them in my Subaru but hardly used them. A heated steering wheel on the other hand, would rock. When is it a good time of year to come your way for lobster? :hungry:

Minnesota must not be selling a lot of Tacos. I got mine 2 weeks ago at Edmunds' published invoice price. Basically any Taco was being offered to me at invoice.

After market leather offered at the dealership is $1200-. I could have gotten it for $900. I just didn't think it works with the truck. I also knew I as going to spend on nerf bars, a tonneau, and maybe in a few months, CAI and exhaust. To each his own, right?

I should of bought my truck from your neck of the woods. Right now here in NJ Tacoma's are going for 1500 over invoice, no cash back on the 06's or 07's
I take that back, you can get $500 off of a 2006 4cyl:(

Check out Katskins if your looking for leather seats for a Tacoma. The dealer I bought my truck offered to do them for $1300. Katskins was the brand they used.

Yeah dude, it was an offer too good to pass up on.

Regarding the leather seating, you should look at a vehicle that has been fitted with that aftermarket leather. IMHO, the fitment is not that great. And if you're getting the TRD, you'd lose the feel of the sport seats.

I just got back from the dealer. they gave me a great price and offered the Katskins for $1k. Now I have to decide whether to go with 4x4 or 2x4, Standard or automatic.

    thanks guys...

Just got an 07 taco, prerunner double cab and they're installing leather for $700. Try and haggle, they say they have no room and it's just cost, but he once quoted me 1100. I guess I win...

Hi new to these forums, but I know the dealers in the south offer the XSP package with leather interiors and carbon fiber on the dash and cup holders.

    **EDIT**

I take back my previous statement. A Taco XSP doesn't come with leather, just the Tundra XSP package.

EVERYTHING THAT I CAN AFFORD ! ESPECIALLY IF IT MAKES IT RUN BETTER &/or FASTER, STOP QUICKER AS WELL AS LOOKING GOOD @ THE SAME TIME.
I found an '06 DBL Pre-Runner with factory leather in Dalllas.
I searched through all of GS Toyota to find the options I was
looking for. Mine has factory leather (option L2) Great upgrade !

There dosen't seem to be '07s in the area of the world (yet)
with factory leather in a 2wd. So, aftermarket would have to
be your best bet if you are looking to buy now.

If you would like I will hook you up with the guy I bought mine
from. Got it at $200 over cost + $1500 cash back.

Well whatever you do don't come to Washington and go to Bob Bridge Toyota!!! They want $40K for an '07 Double Cab. Think it might be a typo.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Welcome Jazzpunk67 to the TW. Depending on the savings, which in my opinion should be substantial as the 06's are truly "left overs" you ought to be able to drive a hard bargain with a dealer, providing he has a truck with the equipment you want. Check the date of manufacture on the door pillar and see when it was made. I would thing that some truck made in Aug/Sept of 06 would be good, you don't want something that was made in Jan of 06 and has been sitting around ...... either way your going to get a great truck.

Leather was an option on the 2006 Tacomas, but not on 2007; I've seen several 2006 with leather and it is a $999 option. You can check by building it on the toyota website
