2 wheel drive low range

I have a 03 taco v-6 4x4 and was wondering if anyone knows of an easy way to get 4wd low range without the front axle being engaged ( 2wd low range ). I like to use 4 low range for parking and moving my boat around as it is easier on the clutch but with the drive line bind in 4wd low I'm worried about doing damage. I thought I might be able to add a switch somewhere to deactivate the front ADD actuator.
I have searched the web and various service manuals forever with no luck as to a solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a recent thread with the same question. Also, search "2lo" there are a couple other threads that might be able to help you out. If you end up doing one of the mods, take pictures! I'd be very interested in doing something similar!

 

Thx Pugga for your help. I found a few things that I will try and see how it works. If I have any luck I will let you know how it goes. Mine will be easier as I have the first gen with the J shifter. (I hope ).
