Not sure what you mean, but my truck bed is just as hard as the ground? I myself have a tentcot with air mattress. Now the tents you talk about, you could use air mattress and it would be the same. But you have to take everything out of your bed to use it. I don't think I would ever buy one for that reason. I guess it depends if you want to spend the money. Or go with the roof-top tent that has a cushion built in. My tent-cot is a full size and got it for $100.00 on craigs list. Here is a pic of both in action.

I scuba dive, so when i am camping out I have quite a bit of equipment with me, tanks, dive suits, regulators, fins ect.. not to mention all of the stuff needed to survive off of for days at a time. So i agree that it seems too much like a headache to pull everything out of the bed just to put something back in to take a nap on. I just went and got a cheap air bed and it fits me and the wife very well with no issues through the night. well except for the one night we got a little to frisky and a small piece of wood poked through the tent and mattress:cool:

You almost can't get away from them out here. Texas is energy rich. If it isn't oil, hydrocarbons, or coal then it is wind energy, nuclear, or hydro-electric.

West Texas has wind farms out the ying-yang. I have camped in the middle of those before - that is impressive.

What? You boys in the alliance don't have oil wells in your back yards? I thought everybody did.

So what you're saying is that its Texas's fault gas prices are so high!

speaking of wind farms, interesting side note. I work in the largest wind turbine manufacturing plant in the world. In fact, my office backs right up to the prduction floor. We produce more turbines every year than any other plant on the planet

Someone in this vicinity must make the arms for the windmills. I see them on the highway all the time. Those things are huge in length! I have never seen a working windmill but it must be mighty impressive, especially a whole area full of them...

Yeah, this plant makes the turbines only, the blades are designed here but manufactured all over the world. We have several different plants for the blades. The shop floor is UNBELIEVABLE. I'd post some pics but cameras are strictly prohibited at this site. And yes, the blades are enormous! we had a global broadast from a civic center close to our plant and they had a blade brought in and placed behind the podium as a back piece and i couldn't believe how big it was. I've never seen one an actual wind farm but i'd love to. If i ever for some God-forsaken reason end up in Texas i'm gonna hit up 007 and make him take me to that windfarm to go camp out.
