Hi all this is my build it won't be as extreme as most on here but it will be enough for me, isn't that what customization is all about? A little about me I live in South Carolina in a town of less the 5,000 recently graduated high school, next year I will be attending USC Salkatchie for the Fall of 2011 as a pre-med major and history minor, and hopefully transferring out to Aiken or Beaufort. I drove a Chevy S-10 all through high school it was a good truck just kept blowing motors at no fault of my own, the four bangers suck, but now for my graduation present my father bought me a Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner SR5 3.4 V6 Double Cab Automatic and I love it. Now to the truck, it started out nice we had to replace the tires and battery first thing battery was bad and tires had separated bands causing the wheel to knock side-to-side. Then we had the timing belt replaced while also doing water pump which need it anyway due to it leaking and having a build up of old dehydrated anti-freeze around the pump and cover. We replaced it all and I put on another 1,000 miles then the truck started not wanting to crank replaced Neutral Safety Switch, and now we're here.

As a birthday present my parent bought me my sub box that I had been saving up to buy I installed everything and made a write up/review on it

    A few more pics:
    Flexing
    [IMG]

Got a tool box for Christmas and a damaged front end.

    Big ugly dent.

While in the shop. Toyota sent the wrong part but the part was marked to be the correct part vin's and part numbers matched but the fender was wrong Toyota themselves didn't even know what it went to so the time my truck was in the shop it got delayed a few more days.

This is the best milage I've gotten so far. I'm averaging ~22 at 99% highway driving back and forth to school which is about 50 miles round trip.

I built a flag holder to put in the bed of the truck. We use it for tailgating we will put an American flag up front and our school flag in the back I'll usually stop about a mile away from my destination and put the flags in a few sand bags up front and they fly just fine.

My favorite pic. This was taken on campus at 8am a little fog kept the sun glare down and made for a great pic, if only I had a better camera.

Mine doesn't appear to have been taken care of by the previous owner.

I am located in Barnwell SC about a 20 minute drive away from SRS down Highway 278.

A few Pictures since I figured out how to up load them.

I wouldn't have minded the 4x4 but I will be commuting to college every Tuesday-Thursday for summer session and then when fall semester starts so I figured I didn't need the 4x4 enough to make up for the loss in mpg. Where I bought the tuck from they had two models to choose from same everything except one is 4x2 and one 4x4, mine is 4x2 and silver but the 4x4 was red. I have yet to be in a situation where I needed 4x4 in my entire 3+ years of driving and all of those have been because of stupidity or trying to show off and sling mud everywhere.

pretty sure only 2mpg is lost, which for me isnt THAT big of a difference.

Hell i get better mileage than my mom does and hers is a double cab 2wd TRD, i get around 20.5 mpt and she gets around 18-19 & i got larger tires as well as a ton of added weight from sliders, toolbox, fullsize spare, tools etc. but either way no biggie ive been in to many situations where i needed it and the locker alone wouldnt get me out so im glad i got 4wd

That locker however has pulled me through some decent stuff. We only have mud and hills around here so it has helped.

Got my amp!! Now for the box should be here by Wednesday. Hooked it all up to an 8" box I had laying around. Do NOT be fooled these 8's are SICK they hit like crazy and sound awesome, they have absolutely NO problem hitting the low notes. The subs are super loud, my rear view mirror is completely useless with them set on 0 but if I turn the sub level up on the head unit it goes crazy and starts falling down-ward. All in all very happy with them. Never would have thought 8's would be this awesome.

why is loosing visibility a good thing? Now that you have your subs, what about upgraded speakers all around to actually hear the music?

I have Kenwood KFC-C6893PS in all four doors which I am go buy an amp for whenever I get the money to do so. And my outside mirrors shake a little but still you can see clearly with them my rearview inside the truck will shake like crazy, but i only use it to see if there are any cops behind me.

Those Sony Xplode sub woofers don't sound too badly when paired with a good amp one of my friends has them in his (gasp) jeep and they sound awesome on a JL amp. He bought the amp intending to use it on some JL Subs but every time I talk to him he still likes them. Right now I'm working on upgrading my mid and high's because I went mud bogging and the stupid doors let every bit of water in and ruined my speakers and carpet so I'm planning on buying new speakers and going all out this time while also water proofing the doors.
