I just got mine Light Bar and Step Rails

    11 Tacoma TRD Off Road
    NEW Toyo TIRES Bed Cage to hold 120 LBS of sand and fishing rod holder, window air deflectors, Bug Deflector, & finally Avid Light Bar and step rails....
    I am debating wether to prime paint them my-self or take them to a power coating place? The cheapest quote I got for P.C. is $275. It seems high to me.

    I live North East so there will be lots of salt hitting them.

    Any suggestions are welcome!

    Is Rustoleum brand the way to go for these? I wonder which method lasts longer - brushing or spraying-?

    i used rustoleum on all my stuff because you can touch it up. i did 2 coats of rustoleum primer and 3-4 coats of rustoleum gloss protective enamel black

    I rubbed them with Acetone to take off any resins, shipping plastic, etc.

    I am now ready to sand them tomorrow, then I will do another Acetone rub..........
    and I bought rustoleum primer and gloss black spray paint and I plan to do as mentioned above 2 coats primer and 3 coats paint.

    Did anyone use lock washers to attach the bumper bar, or just connect it straight to 9/16 bolts?

    Took my time, I put on 2 primer coats, and 5 paint coats. I used rustuleum.

    Then I sealed them with rub on sealant and finally turtle waxed them.

    Geo Jr also liked the products and he took tim eoff his busy schedule of online gaming to help out.

    Everything aligned just perfectly and the bar and step rails are solid.

    it does come with hardware, should be no drilling or tapping of holes. and if you want a quote you can email brandon at brandon@avidoffroad.com make sure you tell him your a TW member and he can give you a quote!:)

    The front light bar does not require any hardware. It uses the existing 4 bolts that hold the bumper. The step rails come with 2 sets of bolts and they are easy to put on.

    I chose to prep them, and paint them. Just give them many coats and let them dry for 2 days. Then sealant and wax.

    I got the Tacoma World Discount as shown above.

    I spent about $80 on Rustuleum primer and paint spray cans.
    I looked around for power coating but some here told me it will not be easy to tough up, plus the cost ranged from $300 to $500!!!

    Thank you. I really like the set up you have, I am torn between the Avid light bar and a Westin brush bar. I just installed the roof rack last night and it looks great.
