Going to see Metallica in Philly tonight! It will be my fiance's first rock concert, she's only seen country shows. Any bets on whether her head will explode?

Shes not sure what to expect. I just told her to wear something black. She asked me about bringing ear plugs.

I'm not sure who is opening for them. I saw them the last go round at the old Veterans Stadium. Great show.

They played a lot of old stuff in Vancouver. Nothing from St. Anger!! The new album is pretty good, I like it at least, more like there older stuff but refined. Your wife might want some ear plugs, they were by far the loudest rock concert I've been to. Although I was on the floor 5 feet from the speakers!!!

Saw them in Houston 08 they were awesome as usual! My wife and 2 friends had never seen them live. Boy they were so amped after the show. I bought my tickets though this presale offer I got a free down load of the show and the Death Magnetic cd. The coffins from the cieling were awesome and they dropped all of these huge inflatable black balls from the air.

The last time I saw Metallica was in April 1997. I took my GF Tracy who I ended up marrying in Vegas a year later. It was one of the last concerts at The Omni (downtown Atlanta) before they torn it down to build Phillips Arena. It was a kick ass show. Toward the end of the show, shit started catching fire around the stage, and equipment started falling over. The band just kept on playing. One of the guys that handles the lighting way up high had his equipment "break" and came swinging down through the air just hanging there, and even more stuff caught fire. They just played on anyway. I probably have 20 favorites, but MOP is right at the top:

Edit: A freakin link that plays without hesitation, sound turns kinda shitty for about 25 secs)

Metallic a kicked ass!! They played a lot of old stuff along with some form the new album. The new album didn't do much for me at first, but sounds awesome live. Real simple stage, some lasers and a bunch of flames. Sorry for the crappy pics, camera phone.
