I have the Viper 5901 in my 2007 Tacoma, and it is excellent. I also got the color key pad. Very slick. Use it with my EVO 4G and the key pad. Does everything, especially protect. Not very inexpensive though.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I'm a fan of DEI products and had nothing but success with their remote start/security systems over the years in several vehicles. Currently using the 5901 remote start/2 way security system in my 06 Tacoma. They recently released the 5902 which steps up to a color screen on the main remote.

They also allowed you to expand the system with a add on module to use your android phone or iphone for all of the remote's functions, eliminating the key fob or as back up. Not too familiar with Compustar products but from the reviews, they aren't too bad. Your system is only as good as the install. Find a good reputable installer.
