You can't just order the Gentex 3.5" screen mirror from an online auto part site.
    You'll get the 50-GENK352 part# and it won't work.
    Ask me how I know.:frusty:
For the '09 Tacoma, you need to order a 50-GENK352TAC3 that comes with a different plug in area and small jumper piece of harness wire that's in this video.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4tAZHVMfl0

I called the Mito Corp which makes the Gentex mirrors when the 50-GENK352 plug area was different than the stock 2.4" mirror and was told it's the wrong mirror.
Just sent it back directly to Mito for the exchange to the proper mirror and jumper piece of harness.
The stock 2.4" screen mirror will fit '09s with non monitor mirrors along the small jumper piece I will change to.

I find the stock mirror to be adequate. I am able to see well enough to put the ball on my hitch directly under the coupler on my boat trailer and I am able to back up within an inch of something behind me. Don't need any more detail than that. I'll spend the $349 somewhere else.

That's $349 less just under $200 for the sale of my OEM mirror.
So the difference isn't that great and worth it to me as I find the OEM mirror too small.
The 3.5" is actually double the size of the 2.4" screen mirror.

    Not really.
    Stock 2.4"
    Mirror measures 10 1/2" wide x 3 1/8" tall
    3.5"
    Mirror measures 11 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" tall

    doesn't really look any bigger.

Did you just send it back and got replacement without paying extra ? I've done same thing (brick wall smiley applies), but they told me for extra $60 they would send me an adapter. I'm currently gathering info to make my own, and probably I'll put a switch there so I can turn camera on on demand.
