Changing the lift to comfort.

Tired of the spacer bull, haha. I know my front is going to be blisten 5100 with eibtechs which set at 0 gives it a 3" lift up front. Rear im doing the tuff country 2" AAL however debating the rear shocks... Could get 5100's. Or possibly something with a resivor? Whats a good high perfromance rear shock? Cant afford Icons or Kings lol

 

Bil 5100 elbach coils will give you 1.6 of lift

 

So billies and 885 coils?

 

Set your front 5100's to .85 and you'll sit around 2.5 inches up front.

5100's in the back would be just fine!

 

Negative. w/a 2" aal the 5100's would be maxed out.You'd have zero down travel.
Look into the 5125's or the 5150's.

 

^negatory... I ran the 1.5" AAL with TSB leafs and 5100s just fine

if you run the 5100 set at "0" with 885 springs and a 2" AAL with 5100 the ride will still be rough... but WAY smoother than the spacers. btw, on 4wd the this set up will only get you about 2.5" lift up front. In order to get a full 3" you'll need a 1/4" spacer (which make it more rough)

for the smoothest ride on the street I recommend a drop bracket lift either RCD 4.5" or one of the 6" lifts... otherwise go back to stock

 

I had this exact setup.They were topping out over speed bumps.
Figure I had less then 1/2" of down travel.Because of that I wouldn't recommend the 5100's w/a 2" aal.

 

wierd because with my old setup I had about 2.5" of lift in the rear and the 5100s did just fine...

I mean a 5125/5150 would be better though... more travel is always better (thats what she said) but the 5100s function.

 

I've got 2 inch AAL. No issues for almost a year now.

Though I more than likely have not have it flexed out to the max by any means...

 

Just ordered the whole kit. It says if I set the billes to the second c clip setting with the top plate spacer it gives me a 3 "

 

If your gonna do 2in in the back get 5125's they have plenty of travel. Not the smoothest but definitely better than maxing out over speed bumps

 

I called toytec and they said the kit comes with recommended extended 5100's that have enough travel to run a 0-3" rear

 

What is the difference between 5125s and 5150s for the back?

 

Here is a pic of my busted 5100 in the rear. My truck is sitting on jack stands with the rear tires off the ground. Notice how it's maxed out completely.




Remember, there are two different model 5100 rear shocks. The one pictured above is the short one that came with my front ones when I ordered them as a package a while back.

Yeah I think I got the extended version. They were positive it would have enough travel because I told them about you and they said the old kit came with standard size 5100's but they upgraded the travel recently

 

I bought my first setup from toytec and I ended up buying the 5125's a month later. Just my opinion tho a ended up buying a lot of stuff twice when I did my lifts haha

5125's come in longer lengths and a 5125 is a piggyback resi. I believe

 

Are they going to get warrantied?

 

gotcha. Also, I just received the longer 5100's today. The stem is larger than my old ones. Shock looks like a totally different shock lol. Here's a comparison. I took the rubber boot thing off so you could see the zise difference

DSM fixed me up! They forgot to put in one bag of hardware, but they're overnighting it. Should be here tomorrow! DSM is #1
