Bump stop spacer. To keep shock from bottoming out

Are there such things as bump stop spacers to extend the bump stops a bit? DSM and I are in the middle of finding a rear shock that would be the right length for my 2" lift. The small 5100's are too small, and the large 5100's(the ones that are on now) are barely too big. The shock gets fully compressed before the bump stop hits frame. I need a temporary fix. I've heard a few on here say something about bump stop spacers, but I can't find anything on them.

They compress down to the same size as stocks though right?

 

How long are your U bolts? You could always put a few sticks of 1/4" plate between your bumps and the leaf packs assuming your U bolts are long enough.

 

They compress (not sure how far) but are intended to help carry a load so if they did manage to bottom out, it'd be a soft bottoming out, not a hard one. Timbrens are taller than stock bumps so you said the longer ones were barely too long, these might work for you.

Or do what JLee said and give yourself a little extra lift.

 

it wont give you extra lift, he means put it under the bump stop not the axle

I do have the longer Ubolts, so this could work.

 

Weld a piece to the frame side where the bump stop hits, so that it makes contact sooner.

 

I am in the same situation. Have not fully ordered my kit yet, but plan on running a 2'' aal non tsb in the rear with the extended bilsteins. DSM advised me to extend my bump stops, but I am having trouble figuring out an easy way to do that.

One Idea I had, is to take a 1''block and put it on top of the leaf springs but underneath the bump stop. Toytec sells this one with extended U bolts. Could this work? would it extend it too much?

Pickup a block spacer and put it on the top of the leaf pack to raise the bump stop. That way it will have a pin to keep it from moving.
