I was on my way to a funeral yesterday and drove by a used car lot and right up front they had the truck I am looking for. The only problem is I haven't tried to sell mine yet and I don't want to bend over and grab my ankles on a trade in. I was hoping to sell to a private party. So what do I do? This truck had my name on it and I REALLY want it! How much do you think my truck is worth? Should I put it back to stock to sell it? Would I get more for it with it in the stock condition? Thanks!

Here's a link to the truck I found:

Here's a pic of my truck the way it is now:

Keep the wheels!! I like the look of yours right now, but if you need 4 wheel drive, then thats not a bad looking truck, i really dig the black flares, but i am biased, LOL.

I'd just remove the stuff that's easy to get to or really expensive (plus you need the stock parts to put back on). For the most part, you won't get anywhere near what you paid for your accessories in value added to the truck. Wheels & tires would be a good candidate. As a buyer, I probably wouldn't pay extra for accessories unless they were worth a lot of money (e.g. supercharger) and even then I wouldn't offer what you paid.

    stock, for now
just work a deal out with the dealer that you have both trucks for like a day so you can swap out all your stuff. Im sure they would be willing to do something like that.

Unless you wanna sell it privately. Then im not sure how you could work it out

i was thinking that selling privately would bring more money, but if the dealer will give me a deal on the 4x4 and give me close to what i want for mine i might just do that. i'm going down there next week and see what they'll give me for mine.

thanks everyone for the replies! :):)

Check www.nadaguides.com for the value of your truck, they give trade in as well as private party values. If you decide to go the trade in route then take that print out with you to the dealer so when they try to lowball you, you can say "I don't think so" If you can use your aftermarket parts on the new truck I would take them off and put it back to stock, in the long run you will save money.

Good luck on getting the new truck, it's the right color!

You hardly ever make the money from your mods back when you sell and you always lose that money when you trade in. I've been hearing of dealers going really low on their trade in offers. Don't let them screw you. Try listing it on Craigslist first.

I really dig those rims. Very cool.

Every time I've tried to sell my Toyota truck, it is a done deal in about 2 days. The last one I sold was a done deal in about 2 hours.
