    I think I may get a new head unit but a few I've looked at on Best Buy's site for starters don't support playlists, or so it seems. One Pioneer unit had a related video on their website where you pop in the USB stick and it starts on song #1. Thats not good when you want to get to song #255.

    Can anyone recommend a deck with USB that supports playlists, and has a detachable face.

    I have a clarion cz401 i think it is... I dont know about playlists, but it does support searching by folders; its better than starting at trk.1

    I went to Best Buy today and was told that most, if not all, can browse through folders. Thanks for the reply

    I should have said that I did try some myself and the few I tried all supported folder browsing.

    I'm not a fan of how folders look and the feel of them when using the USB stick on my Kenwood dnx6140. I'm not really a fan of apple products, but I went out and bought a nano off craigslist for $50 and the browsing is leaps ahead of using a usb stick.

    I'm finally picking up my new alpine here in a hour.... IDA-X305S with the Bluetooth module. I've played around with it in the local stores and can't wait...

    Only thing for me is the damn dash kit.... I can get the metra one for less than $20 but can't get a hold of the Scosche kit for less that $35

    I have been comparing Digital Media Recievers for a couple months now, and Pioneer still has the best USB performance. I have an older Pioneer Premier that can load a 16gb USB stick and start playing within 15 seconds of turning the key. The Kenwood and Alpine both had staggering load times, with one Kenwood model not loading at all. The Sonys have good start up time, but appears to offload reading the entire folder structure until after the song has started playing.

    In the end, I am ordering a Pioneer MVH series based on faith. No one in my area stocks them, so I am hoping this single-din unit performs more like the older units, then the fancy new double-dins.

    Learn where the reset button is; I encountered more then one display unit that needed to be reset before it would read a USB drive.
