In the market for some new tires for the wife's 2002 Sequoia. She says she wants something that looks "tough".

For reference she now has LT265/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler Revos2 and doesn't think these look "tough" enough (plus they wore out quicker than I thought they would).
This vehicle will never see anything offroad so highway miles are important. Looks are equally important. (I would like to go with a set of BFG AT KO's but they are more than I can go for right now).

Which do you think would be the best option:

Goodyear Wrangler Authority @ $175 each. (walmart tire-I was warned to stay away from walmart tires because they were made out of cheaper rubber compounds so that Walmart could sale cheaper tires-made logical sense but have no way to verify this. Hey they look good though.)

Cooper Discoverer AT3 @ 175 each. (never really considered these but the latest Consumer Reports rated them well)

Yokohama Geolander A/TS @ 150 each (not really sure about these but have heard some good things).

What do you guys (and gals) think? I think around $175 per tire is the top of my budget.

Forgot to mention that the Cooper tires have a $75 visa card so that makes them look better for the price.

I think this is basically the same tire as the Authority, only the Canadian Tire version, which I have run for the past 4 years and found them to be a very good all around tire. I run on the highway 90% of the time summer & winter and have been impressed with thte tread wear and performance. I do take them off road as well in everything from gravel and rock to mud and snow and they are more than adequate. Overall good tire for the money.

I really like my AT3s...look somewhat agressive, and handle well. They don't have that rednecky buzz going down the highway, either.

I was wondering if anyone been running these tires. I think they will be my next buy. They look great in person but never saw any real reviews. I need to get rid of the Duelers and get something more agressive for hunting

If you have a Goodyear company store around you, they match internet prices. Just got the Duratrac installed yesterday and out the door for $800.

Just put those on my truck over the weekend. Been sitting in my garage since the group buy a few months back. So far so good - not too bad in the rain, a little grippy on turns but not bad at all. Best of all, they've got the snow-flake and some other "rated for" markings.

The caveat is, I've only driven them about 70 miles so far.

And, oh, the tread is pretty impressive. The pictures show the design, not the size of the lugs, which are pretty beefy. I have them in 245/75/16, and the BFG's they replaced (265/70/16) looked nearly identical size-wise.

Ouch, just looked them up (wrangler territory) and they are $289/tire for the 17" at Cdn Tire. Gotta wait for the sale

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
I got Firestone Destination AT's for $180 from the dealer. Buy 3 get the fourth for a $1.

The look tough but I think they are going to work well in the snow. That is my main concern. All around use and snow and ice. They are not noisier than the stock Dunlops that came on the truck.

I know they are not on your list, but have you looked at the General Grabber AT2?

They look very similar to the BFG AT and are 165 per tire from tire rack.

I run them on my truck and my wifes Rav4 and they have been great tires so far.. They have a nice agressive look with the sidelugs as well.

I was holding out for the Red Labels, but they have not released them for employee purchase, so I bit the bullet and got these instead and have been very happy with them

    good luck

I think it worked out to around $200/tire out the door on sale.

The General Grabber AT2 costs more than the BFG AT KO once you add the shipping at tire rack. That is what everyone is missing when looking at tire rack prices. They are $25-30 per tire to ship!
