Wanted something to hold fishing rods, looked around and there was a aluminum one on ebay for 200, made a test pvc model for 8. What do you guys think, there will be 4 total with clamps onto my bed extender.

I love it. I've been thinking about the same thing but with me drilling holes thru the slats in my bed liner on the tailgate part and zip tying them on. I like you Salt Life sig I've got a sticker on my truck just like that. Soon to have one with Slut Life.

3"spacer in the front, Add a leaf in the rear, Black OEM head lights, Led lights, 2" wheel spacer.
Looks good, more cost effective that way.

UPDATE: I have finished half of the project, got smaller clamps so there is not as much slack hanging on it + more tight. I also used goo-gone to make the appearance more desirable. I replaced them both with the manufactures red markings faced inwards to the black post so you cannot see them + alligned the clamp screws with the back, so now i have to get just a bigger diameter pipe for the middle for deep sea fishing poles and it'll be done!

Good idea. I use PVC pipe for all kinds of things. I build props for my kids' school plays and PVC is always one of the main materials.

Yup I love it, inexpensive and can take dings. Plus it's white so it matches my truck. Also the aluminum $200 alternative wasn't nearly as secure (just had 2 "L-brackets", plus aluminum is a target for scrapers down here.

good thinkin. I would suggest that you drill a hole in the bottom of the PVC cap so that water will drain out, my.02

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
I was thinking of doing something mounted to the side of the bed maybe, that way i can still put my boat back there without breaking a rod...something kind of like the maglight mod is what i have in my head, just havent started searching for anything to do it with.

I don't know if it'll apply for you, but have you thought about notching one side, so the reel will slide down in there securely? I'd have to do that to use my spinning reels, which is about all I fish with.
