After a couple of months of resentment from purchasing my '07 Prerunner I decided to trade it in on this 2008 TRD Rugged Trail 4x4. Love it so far. Hoping to get new tires and a lift soon. Let me know what you guys think and I'm open to upgrade suggestions.

Looks good! Definitely get new tires, but keep those sick rims.

Would've gotten the Rugged Trail package but it wasn't available in my area. Those black TRD Baja wheels look great.

If you intend to go off-road, ditch the step rails and get sliders. If you get high-centered, the weak step rails may fold up and actually dent the rocker panels.

    Example of CBI sliders:

Thanks for the replies. I do intend to ditch the step rails, and maybe get sliders at some point. Need to find some trails around the Charleston, SC area if anyone knows...

I know there's ton's of posts on here about lifts, but if I'm looking to get 2.5-3" and level, what is the most reasonable cost for a suspension lift and from where? I see a lot of posts on Toytec and OME and a lot of negatives for those that use spacers/blocks.

Also, couple other questions: Does anyone know the backspacing of the Baha wheels and will wheel spacers work on these ok? Do all TRD's come with TRD catback exhaust?

    Thanks.

Thanks Hard2kILL for the info and nice truck!

It looks like I'll be going with the 5100's and AAL's in rear. if I set the front to 2.5" will I have to drop the diff to spare my CV's?

You can use the the adjustable bilstein 5100s to set your front end level @ or around 2.5". That will make your truck sit level. You should already have the better springs up front since you have the offroad pkg. No reason to get rid of em already. You dont need to do anything to the rear.

Just making sure you aren't saying that 2.5" front with stock rear is level.....for stock rear, the 0.85" setting on the 5100s will level you out.

Im saying you need about 2" of lift to the front to make it level with the rear.

I disagree, I installed my billy's at 1.75" with stock rear and I was nose high.

Ok, so I've been trying to do some more research on lifts and most of the thousands of posts are specific to their trucks and setup so here's some ?'s for my application.

Wanting 2.5"-3" lift & level, run 265x75x16's and probably going with 5100's in front, AAL's in rear, and stock TRD coils

    1) What do I set the 5100's to? 2.5"?
    2) What size AAL should I get (How do i know if TSB done or not)?
    3) Will I need to drop the front diff with this setup?
    4) Will I need axle shims or carrier bearing drop?
    5) Will 1.25" wheel spacers be too much for this wheel/tire setup?

    All help is appreciated.

One objection: the spinach around 5100's @.85 will not get you to 3 inches of lift in the front. They are just short of 2.5.

Ok guys, so in order to get 2.5" of lift and leveled with stock coils and no TSB, i need the following:

5100's set at 1.75 and 2" AAL in rear and possibly a .25" spacer on drivers side to eliminate the driver's cant.

    Correct?

Hoping to place my order soon and want to be sure.
