Where to Run CB Coaxial Cable?

    Hi Everyone, So I am installing my CB radio and my antenna is going to be on the back left bumper. Any ideas on where to get the cable into the cab? I was thinking just to pop out under the driver seat where the tow package comes in but anyone have better ideas?

    traded it in
    behind the rear left passenger seat there is a grommet you can remove and run it through there, wrap it around the frame (away from the suspension) and up to the bumper, use zip ties to secure it.

    I saw that grommet from the outside but I cannot find it in te inside behind the seat. Where does the grommet pop out in the cab?

    This is what I did. My antenna is located on the front of the bed, attached to my toolbox.

    Check out my sig...
    I ran the coax into the cab from an unused grommet about 6" inboard from the B-pillar. Antenna mounted on passenger side behind the cab, wire run under the rails and into the driver's side cubbyhole, zip tied to the e-brake cable and through the grommetm under drivers seat to the center console to the CB mounted by my right leg.

    Cut a + in the grommet to run the coax. Gonna seal it up w/ silicone when I get the chance.

    Here is how I ran the Coax antenna cable to the antenna.

    Here is the grommet that I am going to use.

    I pulled out the grommet and used a sharp tool to poke a hole into it.

    I shoved my needle nose pliers through the hole.

    And grabbed a hold of the wire.

    Slide the grommet over the wire.

    Finally put the grommet back into the hole.

    Its water tight and you don't have to drill any holes in your truck. Now I ran the cable under the right rear door floor panel to the passenger seat. There is already a channel with wires under that floor panel with room for 1 more wire...

    Does anyone think running the coax next to amp wires will cause any interference? Such as running the coax next to amp power and remote wires?

    Not sure, no experience with that, I am using a 2 ft firestick and a 4ft for when i need to reach out and touch someone far away.

    Hey guys,

    Just adding my 2 cents here as I literally just did this today. Same grommet I found by just laying under the truck and poking around on accident. I used the Firestik kit:

    With the stainless steel door jam mount on the rear of the bed like many others run although I have just fab'd up my own mounts with steel and a vise on past trucks:

    Of course you could just get some plain CB cable and solder PL connectors on both ends and just get an antenna with a PL connector. The better you can make the connection (solder) the better you will ensure a clean signal. Obviously a lot of ways to do it but the Firestik kit is generally my go to. Plus their antennas are very tune-able and easy to use. Don't forget to tune with an SWR meter. I run CB and ham so I tune at CB channel 40 so I'm in the middle.

    This is awesome!!!! Did you feed the coax from the bed into the cab or the other way around? I'm planning on using the fire ring non FME, I'll have to feed the cable from the bed to the cab...if that's possible.

    I fed it through from the outside to the inside. (Although, I am not sure it matters what way you do it)
