    well i finally got all the parts for my retro

    ordered a set of aftermarket black headlights off ebay so i could keep my stock ones in one piece and this kit from theretrofitsource.com



    • 2x D2S Morimoto Mini bi-xenon projectors w/ clear lenses (Low & High Beams)
    • 2x HID ballasts (Morimoto, Denso, or Matsushita)
    • 1x Ballast test lead

    i got 6000k bulbs...they have just a hint of blue. i put my angel eyes behind the apolo shrouds, i just didnt like the way i was going to have to attache them to the front of the shrouds. just seemed cheap looking, wish they came pre attached i really like the way they look. picture 4 shows what it looks like with them on.

    thanks! id probably be willing to make some for people pretty cheaply if anyone doesnt want to tackle it themselves.

    total cost for all parts was 393.00

    well after some leakage :eek: i ended up pulling stuff back apart.

    i decided to put the angel eyes on the outside of the apollos. here are some new pics.

    hopefully the water problem is fixed as im really tired of taking them out

    the glue from TRS and afterwards a couple beads of silicon on the outside edges.

    i thought it looked more stock with the housing chrome, i do like the all blacked out version too.

    as this was my first ever retro, and as a matter of fact first time ive played with a headlight like that, i decided to take the easier route. i dont think i would have a problem with the fx-r retro though now.
