Weld-on differential armor... How-To Question

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, and I think I know the correct answer but I want to see how others are doing it.

For those that have the subject line, and installed it or watched it get installed. Did you remove everything internally before welding it on ?

did you already purchase the weld on?

 

well, I haven't seen all of the bolt-on products out there. But what I have seen looks more bulky and seems to rob more ground clearance than weld-on

no u dont have to pull out every thing. leave the liguid int there so the heatr transfers to it... u may even hear it boil a lilttle ha. change the fluid afterwards and its fine. ive put on and watched a dozen weld on armors... never with taking anything out. u do have to remove some of the brake line tabs out of the way for out first gens... check out my build below, i have a Trail Gear, and i love it

 

Thanks for sharing !!! This is what I was thinking of doing, but I'm sure to be 100% safety conscious the answer is to remove everything.

I have a MIG and a Stick welder and the ability to use them, so that's really the main reason I was looking at the weld-on stuff, and some people talk about the ground clearance.

 

weld on will be the shit man....

 

I just welded mine on. Change the fluid after and be done.
