is rocking on 2 wheels safe?

Im new to off roading but have been trying new hills when I see one I think i can do. so any tips would be greatly appreciated. I tried going up a pretty steep hill but only like 8 feet long. when I started going up it at an angle my truck started rocking. my front right and back left where on the ground but other two was rocking. I had to put it in 4wheel drive and back down cause i chickened out. how hard is it to flip a truck like this. I didnt wont to go straight up cause I didnt want to hit my back bumper on the ground.

 

You would want to hit that head on don't take steep hill climbs at a angle if you can't clear it and you don't want to hit your bumper don't take that line. I've seen way too many guys take really bad lines because they didn't want to hit the rockers or rear bumper. If your truck is not equipped for the line without damage don't take it you can cause more damage that way Like flopping over.

 

So just to be sure is rocking about to flip. I guess new suspension would help and flex better.

 

No not at all you need to know your trucks rollover point you can tip these trucks a lot farther then you would want to before they roll. It just takes time to get a feel for your truck.

I rock mine on two wheels sometimes, actually almost everytime I go riding because one of the trails we ride. My suspension is stock, and it hasnt come close to flippin. They're trucks, not Jeeps! Lol

 

Good to know, I would just hate to flip it trying to find out how far I can lean it , but I feel I need to try so I can accomplished this. Lol

Not sure if the '08 had side curtain airbags. Be sure to hit the "RSCA OFF" switch before tackling such terrain.

 

Ok, I don't think I have seat airbags I know I don't have that button

 

Go out with experienced riders so you can watch them do it and learn from them.

When you're in the cab it feels like you're leaning a lot more than you actually are. Especially if you're not used to it. One thing that helps to get an idea of how much your truck is leaning is to have a friend take a photo of you while you're leaning in the truck. When you look at the photo you'll probably go "That's all I was leaning?" The photo will give you a better idea at how close you were to rolling.
At least I know this helped me when I happened to see a photo a buddy took of me.

 

yeah what you felt was nothing.

I've had rear wheels in the air 3 ft before(fairly stock suspension, so no little to no good amount of flex with stock shackles) and it was still stable.

you just gotta test your stuff to the limit, have a spotter when your doing it. just don't test it to far and flop it on it's side..it's usually not pretty with newer trucks.
the older Yotas can take a beating when flopped but these new paper shit they call sheet metal will be NASTY.

 

All three Tacos in this video have 3" lifts and stock tires.
