I'm fairly certain lowes also has a 10% off for active/retired military...makes the deal that much more of a deal

Also...concerning Kobalt tools. I've heard vary opinions on them, some say there terrible others say there pretty good. I know you get what you pay for and they won't compare to snap on and such. But are they comparable to say, a craftsman?

Thanks for the heads up. I am missing so many sockets from my craftsman mechanics tool set I am going to have to jump on the one they have for $100

Imo craftsman are the best tools out there, but I know there are many snap on fans. I wouldnt say Kobalt are as good as those 2 brands, but they are pretty good for non everyday use. And this is a pretty good deal. I'll probably throw these in the truck. Do Kobalt tools have a lifetime warranty? Seems I read somewhere that they do.

Snap-on tools are nice and all but to me the cost only makes sense if you are a professional mechanic or something. Otherwise, Craftsman, Kobalt and Husky all carry lifetime warranties and are just fine for 99.9% of us home fabricators

Yeah Im think about outfitting the taco with some basic tools, so these might do it.

x2. I've got everything Craftsman but my old man used to be a mechanic and has a full set of Snap-on tools and some MAC tools and there's no comparison, they are nice!! For me, Craftsman works just fine at 1/4 the cost.

yes its true. Last night I bought the $99 set & the $9 pliers.
$98.99 for both kits before tax.
They are a Christmas gift for brother.
It appeared the mechanic set came in a toolbox?
I hope he likes it. :)
Thanks for the thread & savings tip.

This is a good deal on the tool sets. Thinking about putting together a set just to keep in the truck. Looks like Home Depot has slashed some prices on their Husky tool sets as well to match.
