What kind of hard-wood floors do you guys have?

I am looking to put some new stuff down and remodel my upstairs at the same time. Prices are kinda higher than I thought. I am looking at the pre-finished 3/4 or 5/8 wood floors. One is Bella wood and I forget the other brand.

I like the Ash, but only bella carries it and its expensive at 4.99/sq ft. Its on sale this week for 3.69. The other choice is bamboo. It looks kinda cool and is only 2.69 sq ft. It doesn't have any grain though cause, well, it's bamboo...but it's different and cheap.

I have 400sq feet so it will come out to roughly

$1500-$1800 depending on which one I get.

Opinions on either?

Go with bamboo......virtually indestructible.

I have heard nothing but good things about the durability of the bamboo! It also looks pretty badass IMO.

 

Ash is a great wood, reminds me of white oak.
I love the bamboo.

I would go with the bamboo in this case, I don't like *v-grooving on hardwood flooring and it looks like the Bella Wood ash has that effect.

*Traditional hardwood flooring is sanded flush and the v-groove thing screams FAKE to this ol' sliver picker

 

I'm all about bamboo... everything is bamboo in my house...

ash has a nice grain to it, but bamboo looks kickass!

 

im kinda leaning towards bamboo for cost and exoctic factor. its like 180% harder than red oak too which is nice. plus, im pretty sure its the most stable wood out there as well.
