With the new 3rd gen (2016s) coming out, how does this affect the prices of the 2nd gen Tacomas? reason im asking is im thinking about selling mine, to get another 2nd gen short box. instead of long box.

Does anyone pay attention to the market? how did the 1st gen prices fair after the 2nd gen tacoma came out?

Wait so the 2016 models changes that to a 3rd gen?
And, I bet there will be a slight decrease.. but most people know what there buying-the demand for a Tacoma and how reliable they are, i highly doubt it will be that of a significant drop in price!

I've never witnessed the existing gen lose value or price based on new gen on pretty much "any" vehicle. I would not expect any blowout pricing anywhere especially since it'll be likely Nov-December 2015 b4 the 2016 is even on any showroom floors.

Short box tacomas are hard to come by around here, i might see 1 short box in twenty-30 trucks on sale in BC. so i guess what im hoping for is everyone to sell their 2nd gen to buy the new 3rd gen. And then i can have a better market to choose from.

I dont think they made short beds in canada, maybe in an sr5 or base model, but the trd off road only came in access cab long bed and the sport came in double cab long bed.

When ever you see a short bed double cab trd off road or sport its most likely imported from the US.

There are DCSB in Canada. Mine is TRD Sport.

DCSB in Canada is only 6MT in any trim and DCLB is only auto. Beiing 6MT only makes them a bit rare.

If they offered DCSB in automatic here, you would see majority of DC Tacomas beeing short box instead of long box just like down in the states.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Why do they only offer 6 speeds with short boxes?

I wanted DCLB manual as well, but sadly the 6MT is not that good...

If Toyota just offered the locker as an option in the DCLB Sport , they would have covered all their bases

If the Sport had a locker option, what would the OR have left to be sought after? I can't recall any other differences

The Offroad only comes in AC or DCSB

    I wouldn't trade a 2nd gen for a 3rd.

Our 2nd gens are practically bullet proof. If they change anything drastic it will show in the first year or two of production until they work the bugs out
