Same reason I disliked the look of the Colorado/Canyon..it looked like a baby Sierra/Silverado..the 2016 Tacoma looks like a baby Tundra.

At least the 2nd gen looked unique.

I really dislike the "tacoma" stamped on the back of the tailgate, there's enough badges on it already. I swear they stamped it in cause guys were de-badging...

If de-badging a truck makes it unrecognizable, maybe so but I doubt it

If a Tundra pulls up beside ,it will just look like a tiny version. The second gen had a totally different look than the Tundra....it didn't scream " I couldn't afford the big one".

I don't understand the need for people to say they dislike it. If you're not buying....then don't. Why cry about.....not liking it?

I like the look and love the new more powerful more efficient engine. That alone would sway me.....not that I needed a lot of help.

This truck will be the truck I buy....unless a 2011 Lexus ISF drops to the $35K range.

People say they dislike it because they simply dislike the look of it and the new features it has, just because they say they dislike it doesn't mean they weren't planning on buying it. These guys might have been waiting optimistically for the 2016 taco because they're in the market for a new truck. Guys can talk trash about the 2016 tacoma all they want.

Although it's a long shot, complaints about vehicles is how changes are made in future models, not saying Toyota is gonna care about what we say (e.g. I hate the "Toyota" stamped in the back), but if nobody voices their opinions it's doubtful anything will be changed. Some guys love the new look, and some don't. She's a free country

If the Tundra didn't look almost exactly the same except bigger..I would like it....if that counts.

I hated the large letters until I realized where it's derived......Old Ford pickups. I actually prefer it now over some tiny emblem that sticks out.

While the GoPro is.......dumb. The tech inside this thing is pretty impressive. I want dark gray with brown leather please.

They used to be stamped long before the Tundra was a glimmer in Toyoda's eye...

I can see the resemblance of the Canyon and the Sierra.

But the Colorado and Silvy don't look anything alike. I kinda like the looks of Colorado over the Tacoma.

I really have no issues with them making a scaled down model. As a matter of fact, that was a huge selling point FOR the Colorado in my book.

I dislike it solely BECAUSE I dislike the design of the tundra. To me it looks like they took an air hose and inflated every body panel on the front end. It looks like there is bulky panels simply for the sake of being bulky. Then, from the cabin back, it looks a lot like the second gen. Almost like they slapped a new nose on and went "yup...perfect!"

The second Gen was spot on, amazing design. I loved the slightly redone headlamps for 15 too...a perfect look to me. I would have loved all the updated stuff the 16 will offer, but I went with 15 because I needed it sooner rather than later and I wouldn't like looking at the 16 every day.

I really like the look of the current Tacoma, still looks like a Toyota to me...the new styling across the range, the Tundra, 4Runner and now the new Tacoma have gone off the rails. I find them hard to look at....the interiors look great though.

The '16 cab still looks the same...wonder how many bolt holes will line up of you would slap on a bed and front clip off a '12-15?

Exactly how I feel! The 2nd Tacoma design is amazing, by far the best looking mid size truck of all the options since it came out. All the new Toyota trucks are what you said: Hard to look at.

I seriously questions how their current front end designs made it through to production without people screaming "this is ugly as sin!"

To each their own I guess...
